Oh, the places Kim goes.
We all go places. This blog documents some of the places I've been so far.

This is in the middle of the square in Denton, Texas.
Here you will find a large part of my heart. Most of my favorite people in the world go to school a few minutes away from here at UNT, and I’m always missing them. But I love to visit when I can, even though it kinda makes a tiny part of me really sad that I’m not always there. Also, I feel like I should note that it usually doesn’t look this scary, but I took this picture late at night.

This is on a street in London, England.
Here you will find double-decker buses (obviously) careening through roundabouts like nobody’s business. It’s pretty frightening to observe. I don’t know how it isn’t more detrimental, it really seems like it would cause a lot of injuries. Good for them, I guess.

This is the Ballpark in Arlington in Arlington, Texas.
Here you will find the home of “your! Texas! Rangers!” I have been attending games at this ballpark since before my long-term memory kicked in. I’ve experienced nearly every corner of it, from walking around the field, to climbing up the nosebleeds, to tossing peppermints out of the suites, to catching T-shirts in the middle seats, to taking a walking tour of the entire stadium. The nostalgia I feel when I walk through the friendliest security gates in America is indescribable, and it’s the one thing that Cowboys Stadium will never have on this old ballpark. I can honestly say I love this place, and I had to make a post honoring it as today is Opening Day of the MLB season. And in case it isn’t clear yet, no matter who runs onto the field, from Pudge Rodriguez to Josh Hamilton, I will always be rooting for the Texas Rangers. Claws and antlers, y’all. It’s time.

This is a bench along the trails of Edwin Warner Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
Here you will find a myriad of plant species, as I learned in my off-campus biology lab today. On a more right-brained note, you will also find this quaint little spot that seems to lend itself to some serious pondering to whomever chooses to make use of its inviting sitting space. Personally, I think this bench might be the best bench that there ever was.

This is the Palace of Versailles in Versailles, France.
Here you will find a château of the utmost grandeur. Just outside of Paris, the suburb of Versailles is known for this breathtaking palace which has hosted all kinds of royalty and notable guests. It is the picture of beauty. The outside plaza entices the visitor with its extravagance, every room is a detailed adventure, and the back garden is plucked from a dream. It honestly is everything you’d think it might be and more.

This is Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Here you will find the largest screen in the world, along with other impressive (and expensive) achievements. I worked in the executive office here for a month while I was in town and learned so much. Not only is it amazing architecturally, artistically, and athletically, but it seems that every person on staff is just plain friendly… and I really appreciate that in people.

This is at a fork in the road on the way to my boyfriend’s house in Coppell, Texas.
For some reason I only notice this tree when I’m driving alone, but when I do notice it, I find it really striking. Plus I love pictures of trees because trees withstand every day of every season and live to tell the tale. Maybe I’ll take another picture of this tree later and see what it’s been up to.

This is a wall along 21st avenue in Nashville, Tennessee.
Here you will find boutiques, bakeries, coffee shops, and most importantly, frozen yogurt. It’s one of my favorite areas in town, even when it’s cold enough to hate being outside.

This is a dock onto the coast of an island in Angra dos Reis, Brazil.
Here you will find the absolute most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Straight up. This shot is directly off of a crappy digital camera, unedited, and BAM. It’s just that naturally breathtaking. I had one of the most incredibly memorable nights of my life on this dock when I was 16, in Brazil with three other girls, talking for hours (and HOURS) into the night, to the point where we were hungry from all of it and we had to sneak bread and butter from the kitchen, then more talking and plenty of giggling and finally ending with not one but two running leaps into the ocean, holding hands of course. I think I first started to feel what it was like to be fully alive on this dock.
